Nich\u00e9 au milieu des palmiers se trouve Layla&rsquo;s, servant des fruits de mer frais et des colombos, un plat des Caraibe \u00e0 base de curry en provenance du Sri-Lanka. A l\u2019origine, les Sri-Lankais, qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 amen\u00e9s dans les Antilles fran\u00e7aises pour travailler dans les plantations de sucre, ont apport\u00e9 du curry avec eux. Dans les \u00eeles des Cara\u00efbes, le colombo est essentiellement un rago\u00fbt de curry \u00e9pais, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement \u00e0 base de poulet. Chez Layla&rsquo;s il est servi \u00e0 la fois dans une version poulet ou mouton. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-485\" src=\"https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-1.jpg\" alt=\"laylas-restaurant-saint-martin-beach\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-1.jpg 700w, https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-1-300x171.jpg 300w, https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-1-696x398.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;entr\u00e9e de Layla&rsquo;s n\u2019est pas imm\u00e9diatement visible de la rue, mais le panneau color\u00e9 et amical ne peut pas \u00eatre manqu\u00e9. Nous avons gar\u00e9 notre voiture sur le parking en gravier et travers\u00e9 les palmiers afin d\u2019arriver \u00e0 l&rsquo;entr\u00e9e du restaurant. Nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 accueillis par le bar et le personnel accueillant de Layla&rsquo;s. Si vous \u00eates vraiment cool vous pouvez arriver en bateau et amarrer \u00e0 leur petit quai pour entrer directement dans le restaurant par la plage. Tables de pique-nique et meubles de patio sont dispers\u00e9s sur toute la plage de sable, le tout \u00e0 l\u2019ombre de palmiers. Nous nous sommes install\u00e9s au bord de l&rsquo;eau avec une douce brise venant de la baie et une vue magnifique de la ville de Marigot au loin.<\/p>\n<p>Layla&rsquo;s est sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 dans la cuisine fran\u00e7aise cr\u00e9ole et les fruits de mer, mais vous y trouverez \u00e9galement des options typiques de restaurant de plage, tel hamburgers et poissons grill\u00e9s, ainsi que des salades fra\u00eeches maisons. Il y a aussi plusieurs plats du jour, comme brochette de fruits de mer le jour de notre visite.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-488\" src=\"https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-4.jpg\" alt=\"laylas-restaurant-saint-martin-seafood-brochette\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-4.jpg 700w, https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-4-300x171.jpg 300w, https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-4-696x398.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Toutefois si vous vous rendez \u00e0 Layla&rsquo;s, ne manquez pas leur colombo maison. Si je me sentais plus courageuse ce jour l\u00e0 (et pas non plus avec une angine), j\u2019aurais choisi le colombo de mouton, mais j\u2019ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9e de la jouer tranquille avec le colombo de poulet.<\/p>\n<p>Lorsque le plat est arriv\u00e9, je n\u2019ai pas \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9\u00e7u. Sur mon assiette \u00e9taient align\u00e9es trois g\u00e9n\u00e9reuses portions de poulet, cuit lentement \u00e0 perfection et tremp\u00e9es dans la sauce colombo \u00e0 base de curry. Pour accompagner le poulet, \u00e9tait servis, poivrons grill\u00e9s et pommes de terre, bananes plantains douces, riz et haricots.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-487\" src=\"https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-3.jpg\" alt=\"laylas-restaurant-saint-martin-colombo\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-3.jpg 700w, https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-3-300x171.jpg 300w, https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-3-696x398.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Le colombo \u00e9tait riche et copieux, avec juste la bonne quantit\u00e9 d\u2019epice. Le poulet \u00e9tait juteux et se d\u00e9tachait facilement de l&rsquo;os, un plat classique des Cara\u00efbes pr\u00e9par\u00e9 parfaitement avec des saveurs audacieuses.<\/p>\n<p>Si les fruits de mer ne sont pas \u00e0 votre go\u00fbt, vous ne pouvez pas vous tromper avec la po\u00eal\u00e9 de thon. L\u00e9g\u00e8rement po\u00eal\u00e9 et recouvert de graines de s\u00e9same, la g\u00e9n\u00e9reuse portion de thon est servi avec la sauce teriyaki, riz et salade.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-489\" src=\"https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-5.jpg\" alt=\"laylas-restaurant-saint-martin-tuna\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-5.jpg 700w, https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-5-300x171.jpg 300w, https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-5-696x398.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>M\u00eame si nous \u00e9tions rassasi\u00e9s apr\u00e8s nos plats, nous avons d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de faire des folies pour le dessert. Bien que rien ne pourra jamais battre le cheesecake fraise de chez <a href=\"http:\/\/www.settepani.com\" target=\"_blank\">Settepani \u00e0 Brooklyn<\/a> nous nous sommes laiss\u00e9s tenter par le cheesecake maison.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-490\" src=\"https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-6.jpg\" alt=\"laylas-restaurant-saint-martin-cheesecake\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-6.jpg 700w, https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-6-300x171.jpg 300w, https:\/\/punchtravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/layla-6-696x398.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Conclusion, ce n&rsquo;\u00e9tait pas vraiment un cheesecake ! C&rsquo;\u00e9tait plut\u00f4t une panna cotta au dessus d&rsquo;une p\u00e2te \u00e9labor\u00e9e \u00e0 base de biscuits, mais il \u00e9tait l\u00e9ger et moelleux et \u00e9tait plus facile \u00e0 dig\u00e9rer qu&rsquo;un cheesecake traditionnel apr\u00e8s le repas que nous venions d&rsquo;avoir.<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9jeuner, nous avions besoin de br\u00fbler certaines de ces calories, nous avons donc fais un tour \u00e0 l&rsquo;aire de jeux situ\u00e9e non loin des tables. Layla&rsquo;s poss\u00e8de une aire de jeux pour les enfants, comprenant des balan\u00e7oires, des toboggans et une pataugeoire.
